- List artists it knows I like as suggested follows.
- Also list artists I should try out. Genius, right?
- Create a proper contact importer: email, twitter, Facebook, and
other music social networks
- Make it obvious how to push a track to my friends. In fact, this
should be a verb: to ping is to push the song you're currently
listening to your social network with optional comment.
- Syndicate this information to other social networks. Make the native
experience on Ping better, but first get the content out there. This
is what APIs are for.
- Passively show what I'm listening to, and show me a playlist of
songs currently listened to by my friends. Turn this into a discovery
mechanism and radio station.
- Add social licensing so that if I buy something through Ping, my
contacts on Ping can stream it for free. To put it on a playlist or on
their iPod or iPhone, they need to buy it.
- Publish purchases and imports as events from my stream. I buy mp3s
on Amazon and auto-import them to iTunes. I use Dropbox to get music
from my friends, then import it into iTunes. All such events should be
broadcast to my contacts.
